2020 TRENDS FOR TEXTURED HAIR

As the snow melts and ice begins to thaw, you begin waiting for those warmer Spring days to come. But what will you do with your textured hair during the winter and spring/summer months when temperatures can rise and fall without warning and humidity begins to cause your tresses to frizz and dry? Don’t worry! Candace Witherspoon, social media influencer (@curlsbycandace), and owner of Candace Witherspoon Hair in New York City, gives us three hot new trends for 2020 to choose from!

  • Bejeweled Braids “I saw a lot of cornrows and box braids on the runway for Spring/Summer 2020. What’s new is we’re starting to accessorize braids with crystals or pearls to give them a more dramatic look,” says Witherspoon.  Be careful, though. Even braiding your hair can cause breakage.  Protect your hair from damage before braiding by using ApHogee Shea-Pro Leave-In Moisturizer. This rich, hydrating cream is infused with Shea butter, sunflower seed oil and vegetable protein. It moisturizes even the driest hair so that it is less likely to break during styling. To set and lock your braids into place after styling, use ApHogee Style & Wrap Mousse.

  • Naturally Beautiful Wash ‘n Wear Hair – Natural Hair is always in style, and this season, expect to see lots of volume in these gorgeous, textured looks. To achieve this high-volume look, cleanse your hair with ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Shampoo. This shampoo is formulated to help maintain the condition of delicate hair types, such as fine or color-treated hair using keratin and amino-acids to gently cleanse and protect. After cleansing, apply ApHogee Curlific Moisture Rich Leave-In and comb through your hair to distribute the product evenly. Finally, apply ApHogee Curlific Curl Definer by scrunching through your hair to keep your curls under control. You can air dry your hair or use a diffuser to add even more volume. Pick through your gorgeous, natural style and go!

  • Simple Bun When the temperature rises, and you trade your long sleeves for sundresses, it’s time to get your hair up and show off your gorgeous shoulders. But, even when it’s up, your hair can make a statement. To achieve this look, brush your hair to the top of your head and create a messy bun. Secure with hair pins or a scrunchie. Smooth and finish your style with a blast of ApHogee Gloss Therapy Polisher Spray to add brilliant shine and lock your style in place.

Beautiful, traditional looks that complement textured hair are all the rage for Spring and Summer. Add your own signature style to these looks by using decorative hair pins, barrettes and ribbons. Have fun personalizing your style and enjoy the sun!
